The phone is tipped to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. It is said to be the first device to arrive with the flagship Qualcomm chipset. Xiaomi 16 could pack a triple rear camera setup, including three 50-megapixel sensors. The phone is tipped to offer battery improvements over its predecessor.

Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo shared (via) alleged specifications of the Xiaomi 16. It is said to come with a 6.3-inch flat OLED display. The screen is tipped to feature thin bezels on all four sides. The phone could ship with Android 16 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3.0 interface. The preceding Xiaomi 15 runs on the company's HyperOS 2.0 skin for Android.

Xiaomi 16 is expected to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. The chipmaker will release the SoC at the Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for late September; the Xiaomi 16 series is believed to be the first to ship with this chipset.
